Changed headlight!

Didn't like the size of the headlight in comparison to the overall look of the bike. It is basically too small, but I found a great replacement in this springer 6-1/2 inch lamp. Looks much better.... don't you think.

Not done yet, some plans that involve the skill and steady hand of Incastienen. you'll see...

Heatshield!

Since my licenseplate light melted away some time ago I had to rethink the way I build it. Decided that I liked what I did and left the setup the same, but......... added a heat shield.
No way it was only going to be a simple plate, did it the hard way, the backyard way... build with what you have,

Oyeahhh, Hart surgery succeeded!

Got time this weekend to do the final jobs on the engine.
Back in the bike and.... oyeah... its running soooo much smoother now.
No test ride yet, hopefully tomorrow.
Look at the gauge.... cold engine and 9,25 bar front and 9,45 bar on the rear cylinder, Hart surgery is a success, the work on the valves paid off.

The camshaft from the spare engine is fine, Tomorrow its assembly time:-)

Diggin deaper!

After the front cylinder it was time to do the rear cylinder.
Today's result after a few hours work, a worn camshaft.
Time to dig some parts out of the spare engine I bought for little money some years ago. Foresight ?!....

Little trip to Thunderbike

What a fantastic weather this weekend, finally some sun.
Had to get on the bike, no particular reason, no particular destination, Just do it.....
Had a stopover at Thunderbike, some inspiration for this winter???

Coming together again!

Enjoyed another evening in the workshop putting the front cylinder back together.
As always something else needs to get done as well. Decided to replace the guiding brackets for the camshaft chain because they have become brittle. I hope the spares are in stock.....

Headcase!

Bit of cleaning and....... Lots of valve lapping. After a good 1,5 hour I am happy with the result.
Gaskets are ordered, hope they make it in before the weekend.

Neewiert on Wiels 2011

Little trip this morning to Neewiert on Wiels. Another few hundred km's on the S&S without issues...... seems I have glued every nut and bolt that can come loose. :-)
Saw some nice cars and other stuff....

Valve cleanup!

Took the cylinder head of the engine to check for issues. As I suspected some considerable carbon build-up on the valves. Also the intake valve was covered on the inside which is a sign of leakage.
Time for some cleaning......
Hope this will fix the issue of reduced cylinder pressure

Startup problems, chopperstyle meet!

Hahaha, look at the pics, got to the chopperstyle meeting last weekend and (again) lost some bolts and nuts. had to do a quick fix.
