Getting the chops ready for the biketrip

Had a great few days working on the Yamaha chops. Working alongside John from JJ Suspension I got to fix all the little annoyances that surfaced the past few weeks, Some minor oil leaks, carburetor alignment, ceased cables…... and both bikes got a full service, all the fluids and filters replaced, starter engine cleaned etc.
Having an experienced mechanic in the neighborhood is a great benefit.
DO NOT know how to fix things does not exist anymore......and easy access to spare parts of course.

Fuck Harleydag Mill

What can I say,
How a bunch of 50+ year old harley "Bro's", some Old fuck's, can be the example of the sadness of the Harley movement today. Only Harleys allowed, ghegheghe.
You should have seen this, The smallest bike event in the neighborhood and we were not allowed to park our Chops on the 200 meter holy ground????
And then...it rained...There must be a higher power somewhere.
Time to get some offensive T-shirts printed.

New puppy in the family

Yep, an extension to the family, got ourselves a Bulldog today. This bike will reduce travel time for my wife getting to work. The engine is almost equal to our yamaha chops. Have ordered a stage 1 kit and airfilter from K&N today, so it will breathe a bit easier. Don't tell her about it, its our little secret, gheghe.....

This and That!

Spend most of the weekend on the bike, No major trips just a few hundred km to and from bars, the tattoo shop and my friends place. The Yamaha chops have now done almost 3000 km since I put them on the road again last year. It was time to fix some little things like a clutch cable, lighting issues, foot rests and a fork brace.
Next week I need to get some oil seals to stop some minor oil leaks and then their ready for the holiday trip. Can't wait

The final stretch, Little things!

Made myself a list of final things to do. Its a bit of a funny time, on one hand I am full of anticipation getting the bike ready and on the other hand I know by experience that the "little" things are going to take quite some time to get fixed.
2 things got of the list, The chain tensioner and the sidemount licenseplate bracket. One step closer to getting the bike ready for paint.
I am going to update my todo list now........mmm more things todo.

No sleep weekend!

This riding season seems to have the best start ever. We had the annual party of the chopperstyle.nl forum this weekend. All bike building enthusiasts and all great people. This year's event was done at my place, which meant I had the pleasure of organising it, which I enjoyed doing. You know, the basic stuff, a good mix of good food, drinks, venue you name it. All this preparation must have influenced the weather gods in a pleasant way because the weather was fantastic. Conclusion.... a great weekend
and now.......................I SLEEP

No Sleep Weekend! 2

First Daylight

As you understand nothing got done on the bike this weekend. Got it out of the workshop for the first time. Had a walkaround, its always nice to get some distance and to look at the bike from different angles. I am very pleased with the result.

The end to a great weekend

Today we took the bikes back into Germany. This time to the Thunderbike anniversary.
It was nice to ride up there, have a walkaround and enjoy the company.
With regard to "TB" I think to much yuppie to my liking. Don't think any custom bike sells under 50.000 Euro.
And how else to finish of a great weekend than with a BBQ.

Bottrop Kustom Culture

Just arrived back home from a little trip with the bikes. What a great day, nice and sunny, good event, meet-up with some friends....The Cars, bikes and atmosphere at the Bottrop event where great, we enjoyed the show.
On the way back the clutch cable of one of the bikes snapped but nothing a helpfull bystander, a set of pliers and some steel wire couldn't fix.
This is the life, time for a large cold bottle of beer.....

Gastank done and dusted

Spend another few hours in the workshop today finishing the gastank. Some friends came over for a drink and a coffee. Somehow they always end up in the workshop as well, hahaha. The extra hands where welcome and things got done a little quicker, nice...
Welded some extra strips to the inside of the gastank to fit the oldstyle dash and made myself a tankcover. With some holes to match with the rest of the bike.
I am so pleased I decided to get rid of the stock 5 gallon gastank. This modified 3.5 gallon fits the bike much better. Another job done!
