Backpiece, Nice work Marco

In a completely different way some serious artwork is progressing too.
Marco from Skin-a-matic spend a few more hours on Manon's backpiece.
Its coming together nicely. I like it very much....................
That's good news I guess, being married to this walking artwork, haha.

Bigtwin bikeshow... No Swede to be found!

Spend a few hours on the Bigtwin bikeshow in Rosmalen today. After visiting many of these type of shows, things appear to be more and more the same, lacking "new" stuff. That's why I started looking for the smaller things, the details that strike me and stand out.
This time I was struck by a paintjob. No idea who did it, but he/ she deserves a big compliment.

The other thing that I noticed.....No Swede on the show....they must have forgotten about them now everything needs to be oldskool and zero-styled. Opportunity??

nicked this foto from Chopadilics blog :-)
Nice primairy don't you think

Upcoming events

The next few weeks there will be some interesting events in the nearby exposition center, Bikeshow and hotrodshow. Guess who's going.......?

Chrome won't get you home!

The appearance I have in mind for the S&S does not include chrome. I want the bike to have NO shiny bits except for the polished engine. Today I picked up some alu goodies from Rob Wijers who has a rotary finishing machine. It gives the aluminium a great mat finish. I like the texture.....nice....

Long bikes rule!

I am going through a big stack of old bike magazines for inspiration for my next project. I have always wanted to build one of these...... Will I do it?

Frame jig, It can rotate!

Continued working on the legs of the jig. Last time I made the rotating disks and the vertical adjustment on the main leg of the jig. Today I added some support legs at 45 degree angles to support the jig when it is rotating. IT WORKS........
All of the jig parts have to be detachable to allow for easy storage. It requires me to be a bit more creative and add some bolds in places that matter. 1 set of legs to go before the jig is finished. Tomorrow is another day.......Lets heat up some more steel.

Frame Jig, the legs!

With the size and the weight of the Jig I need to take special care of the legs it will stand on. At the same time I want to be able to change the height and be able to rotate it. This will make my life much easier when welding the frames.
It took a little while to figure it out but I think I cracked it.......
Now we need to make the 2nd leg.

Frame jig, almost ready!

Spend another few days assembling the parts. It is getting there. 1 or 2 days more work and I am ready for my first frame.

Frame jig, In the making!

I showed you some picks and some drawings of my latest ambition over the past weeks.
Discussed my plans with several guys, tuned my ideas based on their input and started with some pencil work and the ideas turned into drawings and now into reality. Rob Wijers and John van Wanroij are helping me to achieve it. Their lathe and milling machines are spinning and spitting out the parts. Coooool to see the concept turning into reality. Guess what I'll be doing this winter................

"And some more, these spacers will allow me to use different axle sizes"

"I will use this jig to weld the frame as well. So it must be able to rotate.."
