Oyeahhh, Hart surgery succeeded!

Got time this weekend to do the final jobs on the engine.
Back in the bike and.... oyeah... its running soooo much smoother now.
No test ride yet, hopefully tomorrow.
Look at the gauge.... cold engine and 9,25 bar front and 9,45 bar on the rear cylinder, Hart surgery is a success, the work on the valves paid off.

Little update, not done for today yet, but in real need of food ;-)

Replacement camshaft!

Couldn't wait until tomorrow, had to know....
The camshaft from the spare engine is fine, Tomorrow its assembly time:-)

Diggin deaper!

After the front cylinder it was time to do the rear cylinder.
Today's result after a few hours work, a worn camshaft.
Time to dig some parts out of the spare engine I bought for little money some years ago. Foresight ?!....

Coming together again!

Enjoyed another evening in the workshop putting the front cylinder back together.
As always something else needs to get done as well. Decided to replace the guiding brackets for the camshaft chain because they have become brittle. I hope the spares are in stock.....

Headcase!

Bit of cleaning and....... Lots of valve lapping. After a good 1,5 hour I am happy with the result.
Gaskets are ordered, hope they make it in before the weekend.

Valve cleanup!

Took the cylinder head of the engine to check for issues. As I suspected some considerable carbon build-up on the valves. Also the intake valve was covered on the inside which is a sign of leakage.
Time for some cleaning......
Hope this will fix the issue of reduced cylinder pressure

hart surgery required!

After fixing the carbs of the purple chop the bike refused to run properly.
Checked everything else and then..... I checked the cylinder pressure, oops 5 bar, not good...
Took the hart out of the bike for a checkup of the valves,
tomorrow is another day......
